Greetings. You have stumbled across the home of the Technical Readout: Heavy Metal Support Vehicle Forum.

This will be the central collection point for design submissions, comments, suggestions and public discussion concerning the project.

The TRO:HMSUV will be a fan based TRO consisting of at least custom support vehicles designed by the Classic BattleTech community, not necessarily just the Heavy Metal Pro forums.

This is my first public work, and although I have collaberated on several projects this appears to be a big one, so please pardon the dust. Wink

I'm willing to contribute, just please let me fluff my stuff for the TRO. I've been getting quite a few ideas thanks to feed back from others on the various Comparing Truck Engines threads I've started.

So what's up with Discord's avatar pic?

Errr...Discord's got unique tastes?

I think Discord'll be sending me the file to host here.

Also, Discord, it appears we'll be taking out direction from you on how you'd like to proceed.

I've got a few ideas for direction that I'd like to flesh out before posting for comments. Give me a few hours to gather my thoughts.

Didn't someone post an Excel-based sheet for use with SVCR?

I would like to join up to this. If anyone doesn't know or hasn't been to Solaris7, I am steelviper.

What do I need to do, what are the timeframe eras, and are there any restrictions?

Hey, great to have you aboard, spectre327.

Keep coming back here: we want you're input. I /think/ we may be issuing entry requests for specific areas, a few at a time. So, the guidance will be coming soon.

But, if you start designing what you are interested now, you'll be a step up on most people and might even be to suggest a category we hadn't thought of.

Okay then. I do have plenty of support vehicles on my S7 armory but might need to design some more. Are units going to be in the FM? or just vehicles?

Units of all types, it appears. If you have category ideas, please share them here.

(I've proposed security, rescue and industrial versions of 'mechs as an example of categories to fill. Maybe you some further concepts?)

I'm not sure if this would fit in a tank field manual, but having the units those vehicles are a part of would be interesteing and would be good to take some space in the FM

What about support units within Combat Engineering companys?

Battle Armor: Armor suits intended as non-combat units. Cargo loaders, constructors, etc.

Vehicle: Vehicles not intended for combat. Transports, cargo-carrier VTOLs, coolant trucks, munitions carriers, construction vehicles, etc.

Please feel free to amend/add to the list. Smile

Aaaa...I misunderstood. I thought you meant units as in elements. No, its just designs, sorry.

As flattered as I am about having a forum named after my programs, I guess I have to ask why? Because HMSUV does not exist, and almost certainly won't for some time. So no one is able to use it (or anything else, really, at this point). I don't mind, mind you. I'm just curious.

We're just drumming up support for the SV rules and hopefully HM:SUV. Very Happy

I think its more of an homage to all the various fan-designed vehicles posted on your site, rather than to the programs themselves.

But, the point is real: is Heavy Metal the appropriate name? If so, how do we tie it in to the HM site and/or programs?

Yeah, the TRO:HM SUV was when it was originally going to be designs from just the Pro forums, especially Boilerman's stuff. Maybe we should just take out the Heavy Metal? TRO: Fantech Support? TRO: Munchkin Support Abominations? (J/k with the last one..... Very Happy )

I'd leave out anything that isn't....in-character cool. No slam intended, but 'FanTech' seems awfully limiting.

TRO: Support would suffice I imagine, until a better name presents itself. Who knows: once we start seeing how the book is going to look, maybe the name will become obvious.
